Green Adelaide
Gardening is not only a great way to add a little green to your home, it is also a way to create a cooler, greener and wilder Adelaide that better responds to the impacts of climate change. Plus nature is great for everyone’s wellbeing.

Unley Gardener’s Plant Rescue
A group of volunteer gardeners who collect unwanted plants and pot plants that are no longer required, from people who are changing or downsizing their gardens, moving house, or moving into residential care. The plants are re-potted, nurtured and sold during their spring, summer and autumn sales. All money raised is donated to charity.

They are always looking for rare and different plants, as well as the more common plants found in many gardens - except agaves, yukkas, aloes or spider plants.

Habitat for Humanity
RESTORE is Habitat for Humanity’s social enterprise that accepts and resells new and gently used items donated by businesses and the general public - including plants. The funds that ReStore generates support Habitat’s home building program of providing low income families experiencing housing stress with a decent place to live.

Plants can also be used for the BRUSH WITH KINDNESS Program, which supports disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the community through mobilising volunteers to refurbish, repair and refresh crises and transitional accommodation for people facing hardship, including those recovering from trauma, escaping domestic violence situations or at risk of homelessness.
